Today, planet Earth is home to 8,300,000,000 people.

Which would look something like this.

I‘m glad you asked! We would need 332 books!

So how many books do I need for 8.3 billion dots?

5,000 pages. 25 million dots. That’s one big book!

Now imagine 5,000 dots on every page of a very big book.

This is 5,000 dots.

But let's try with DOTS.

It’s hard to picture 8.3 billion of anything.

Since 1988, only 100 companies have been linked to over 70% of the world’s industrial emissions.

doesn’t it?

I don’t know about you, but 8.3 billion certainly looks a lot more than 100.

The 100 blue Dots represent the 100 companies responsible for over 70% of the world’s industrial emissions.

Again, I‘m glad you asked!

Yes... What’s that?

Did you spot the blue dots ?

Now, let’s go back to the very first page.

Yet somehow, we’ve been made to believe that 8.3 billion of us have less power than 100 of them.

We know what we can achieve together. But what about the small things we do every day?

So, perhaps we've underestimated the power of billions of people working together.

Are you going to watch from the sidelines? Or take action?

Are you going to watch from the sidelines? Or take action?

The 2 Billion Race is a global social movement bringing people together to show just how powerful small, everyday actions can be when we act together.

You race in a team of eight, competing against teams from around the world. Together, you complete challenges, earn points and compete for a $1 million prize.

The race happens on your phone, but the actions happen in real life. Each challenge is based on proven solutions to secure the future of our planet.

P.S. No running or exercise required. This is a different kind of race.

It’s simple. You and your team take on challenges throughout the race.

A challenge could be eating one less beef meal, buying one less new item of clothing, refilling instead of buying another plastic bottle, cutting food waste or choosing a different way to travel.

Some take a few minutes, others might change something you do every day. Every challenge you complete moves your team further through the race.

It could be cutting food waste, eating more vegetables and beans, or buying food grown closer to home.

Eating less beef (not becoming vegan!), or choosing beef from a better source if you do eat it.

Buying fewer new clothes (more Vinted and charity shops!), keeping what we own for longer, or repairing instead of replacing. Refilling instead of rebuying, avoiding single-use plastic, using less energy at home or switching to renewable electricity.

Walking, cycling or taking public transport more often. Or simply buying less stuff we don’t really need.

Some actions take five minutes. Others might become new habits. None of them will be hard for you or your team, but together they can change the world.

Yes. And it’s not the only prize.

There’s a $1 million grand prize in every race, awarded to the winning team.

But winning the race isn’t the only way to win something. We want to recognise all kinds of effort, so there’ll be other prizes along the way too.

For individual achievements, team achievements, completing challenges, consistency, creativity and maybe even a few things you weren’t expecting.

And there’s something else. Together, players will help decide which social and environmental projects we invest our profits in.

So as we grow, so does what we can achieve together. Because you don’t have to finish first for what you do to matter.

First, apply for a place in the next available race.

If your application is accepted, you’ll receive an invitation to join. To accept your invitation and secure your official place in the race, simply buy your entry ticket.

Your invitation also gives you seven more places to build your team of eight. Invite friends, family or colleagues to join you. They don’t need to apply for a place first. They simply accept your invitation and buy their own entry ticket to secure their place on your team.

Short on teammates, or don’t have a team at all? No problem. Connect with other players on the platform and build or join a team. Friends, family, colleagues or complete strangers who might not stay strangers for long.

Once all eight players have their entry tickets, your team is officially ready to race.

£23 per entry ticket. Your ticket gives you access to the full race and everything that comes with it.

The next race begins on 13 May 2027 at 12:00 noon BST (London time).
